Welcome to BrooksBulletin!

April 18, 2009, 1:30 AM

Welcome to the BrooksBulletin [CarePage website]. We are grateful for the introduction to this forum in order to keep up with family and friends. So many of you have sent encouraging thoughts and prayers but it has been difficult to keep up with everyone when sending out an update. We hope this webpage will allow you to keep up on your own schedule. We know how bombarded inboxes can get and we never want to add an additional burden to your load. We do covet the prayers that are being lifted up on our behalf as we battle this illness.

We have had many of our new friends ask about my previous journey with my elusive brainstem compression diagnosis and resulting brain surgeries. This journey comprised a total of 14 years and, unfortunately, there is not enough room to include much of that past journey and how the Lord worked in so many miraculous ways to bring me to a place of healing. We hope maybe in time to add some of that story in the “updates” section. What we are learning is that just because God brings us through a difficult season, it doesn’t mean that additional difficult seasons will not come our way. We are trying to take the lessons learned from our previous journeys and apply them to our current one.

We are honored to have so many care for us in such a special way, with words of encouragement, cards, emails, and prayers. Know we read every comment left on the site. This forum doesn’t allow for me to return a message. You can always leave me your email. Please feel free to pass this webpage on to others who would want to be updated and would lift us up in prayer. We are so blessed to have the support, encouragement, and prayers of all of you.

Because of His grace, Lee and Steve Brooks

Melinda Nelson April 18, 2009, 2:40 PM We have prayed for you both for many years and will continue. Thank you for using this new tool to keep us informed! Unfortunately we know about this tool all too well. We have friends who have twin boys on this sight (Lost one a year ago) with heart issues. It’s a wonderful communication tool!! You both are incredible people! I still believe you need to write a book!!! You are an inspiration as a believer on a difficult journey!

You are a great inspiration to all of us and I’m honored to be considered your friend. Thank you for inviting me to share in this part of your life. Nola von Neudegg

Dolores Burtnett April 18, 2009, 8:26 PM Lee, Thank you for letting me know of this website. I think of you and Steve often and you both are in my prayers. It seems you conquer one mountain and are immediately faced with another. For sure only God can give you this strength. Our daily trials pale in comparison to yours. I love you always and you are forever in my prayers.

Tiffany Rose April 18, 2009, 9:52 PM Lee, I am glad you got your carepage up and running. It is a tremendous tool. You have such a way with words and your faith is admirable. I look forward to reading your updates and continuing to follow your progress. I hope this site helps you as much as it did Tiff and us.You are such a sweetheart to dedicate it to Tiffany. I thank you for that. She continues to touch lives and that is what it’s all about…reaching others for Him. I thank God everyday for giving her to me to raise for Him. I am eternally grateful to have had her for 28 years. I wish the two of you could have met. I told her about you and your journey… She was so moved and inspired by you. Just know that I think about you often and pray for you and that wonderful Godly husband of yours… what a blessing he is! Hope to meet you all one day! Love and prayers, Sandy (Tiff’s mom)

Bruce Ensign April 21, 2009, 4:42 AM Hi Steve and Lee, Please know that Susan and I love you two and will pray for you. We are encouraged by your life and love for Jesus. You interface with people we will never meet because of where God has placed you. You have a special opportunity to represent Jesus to the medical community and profession, as well as other hurting people. It is our privilege to pray for you. Please also allow us to serve your needs when they arise.

Bob Moye May 8, 2009, 9:11 PM Lee & Steve, Just now getting back familiar with care pages (had a close friend whose 2 year old’s illness used this as well - great site for those who love you guys to keep up!). We continue to pray for you guys and appreciate you letting us know how we can walk with you even 3000 miles away!! You both have an extra special place in our hearts forever as you walked with us as Nathan was welcomed into our family. Look forward to catching up soon. In Christ, Bob and Sandy

Larry Lewis May 12, 2009, 3:51 PM Lee and Steve; I think this carepages site is a wonderful idea and it will help remind you how many people out here keep you in our prayers. It sounds like you are facing some new challenges with the right attitude. We all benefit from your strength and celebrate when you improve. You both look great. Larry Lewis, Oak Ridge

Charlotte Clark May 24, 2009, 10:26 PM Lee and Steve, We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. I’ve heard it said that every thought is a prayer. We would be remiss if we did not mention Jasper. We are so sorry for your loss. There is a little girl from Y-12 FD, and she prays for me each and every night and has since I got my diagnosis in January. I’m sure she will pray for you too. I know God hears her prayers. Love and prayers, Charlotte and Charlie P.S. Your house in OR is back on the market.

Cindy Hambly March 31, 2011, 10:31 PM Hi, Just wanted you to know that we are thinking of you. I talked with Steve today and let him know when the time is right I could bring Bailey by for a visit. She visits in the hospital and I can bathe her and ensure she is hospital ready before we visit. I would gown up etc. so you wouldn’t get any bugs from me. I just thought it would be nice to spend some time with a dog so she could give you some special strength. Let me know if that sounds like something you are up to. In the meantime you both are in my thoughts and prayers. Cindy (Pete too)

Martha Warnock December 14, 2013, 2:55 AM Wonderful news Steve. Lots of Hugs your way. Jerry & Martha
