A Hard Left Turn

I wasn't sure how to title this one so I am just sticking with the "road home" theme, but it has taken a few unexpected turns over the past 12 hours. As they worked to transition Lee from her IV meds back over to exclusively oral or "other" routes of administration she had an unfortunate return of the reflexive vomiting and chronic nausea that had plagued her a couple of weeks ago.
She is also experiencing some significant pain she describes as the "worst stomach ache ever" that is very different from her previous surgical pain. We are waiting for the doctor to weigh in this morning on whether they need to do any scans or scopes
to make sure she doesn't have either any ulceration or other problems with her stomach, which obviously hasn't been in use for anything other than some ice chips and a small dose of pudding in days. On the positive side, she reports that the pain in her surgical
area is greatly reduced and feeling much better.
As you might imagine, this potential setback has Lee frustrated and concerned that it will jeopardize the "great escape" scheduled for today. We would really appreciate your prayers for clarity on what is causing the return of the vomiting and a plan for correcting it that will still allow her to climb back in her bed at home ASAP. Updates when we know something more definitive...
