Challenging Day

Good morning all, Steve again. Yesterday proved to be pretty challenging as Lee had a return of her nausea and vomiting, which is difficult enough without having just had abdominal surgery. Getting relief and control of this is her top prayer request for today as it makes all the other parts of her recovery much more challenging. Lee says this round of the nausea feels like it could be a reaction between some of the different medications she's receiving and as you can see from the attached photo there are plenty of things to interact.

She and her nurses have (not so) affectionately named her pump tower "Thor" (I didn't ask...). Obviously Thor must go with Lee everywhere so she's also having to focus intently on her navigation skills. Since she's not supposed to lift or move anything greater than 5 pounds, this presents some unique challenges. She's anxious to talk with her doctor this morning to see if there are any of the current medications that can be adjusted or eliminated in order to both improve her nausea and hopefully keep Thor from tipping over or collapsing. Please be in prayer for this discussion and that she can get relief from the nausea and vomiting.

Thank you in advance and we really appreciate you continuing to follow Lee's recovery and keeping her in your prayers.

Margaret McPhee:

Lee is definitely in my prayers, as are you, Steve. I think nausea is about as bad it gets when you're also in pain. Tom and I spoke with the transplant coordinator at The Hutch today about Tom's upcoming bone marrow infusion. She said I would be able to be with Tom in the hospital (University of Washington). They are just now allowing one person to be with a patient. I only bring this up because I hope that will happen for you two very soon.
