Expecting News On Monday

Many of you have been asking if we have gotten test results back so we thought now was a good time to update and ask for prayer. It has been a challenging couple of weeks waiting for results. I have had CT scans, repeat scans, lots of lab work, and then more lab work this past week. My doctor assured me on Friday that all test results would be in and that

he would be calling me on Monday to discuss all of the results, hear from me the current status of my symptoms (fever, night sweats, fatigue, weight loss, etc.), and discuss what the next steps should be.

Some good news: I had been having excruciating muscle pain for the past month or so in my legs that was bringing me to tears, especially at night. I had resigned myself to the fact it was a byproduct of my muscular dystrophy condition which can significantly worsen if there is other ongoing illness. If this was the case there was no other option than to just wait out the pain. However, lab tests revealed I was severely deficient in vitamin D3 and severe deficiency can cause extreme muscle pain among other things. I was immediately started on mega doses of liquid vitamin D3 (for maximum absorption) and after 50,000 IUs my pain began to quickly resolve!! I will continue taking the D3 until the cause of the deficiency is determined and my levels stabilize. It is thrilling to have such a simple, non-pharmaceutical solution to severe pain!! This has definitely been a huge encouragement in the midst of everything else that is going on. God is so good!

Pray for us as we wait on Monday's call. Pray that the peace, comfort, and strength we feel now will only increase as Monday draws near. Your encouraging messages and prayers thus far have helped sustain and buoy our spirits during this time of difficult uncertainty and patient waiting for answers. Please keep us in your prayers! We will post an update after Monday's call from the doctor.

No matter what through all you've both been through, the good and the bad, you Praise Him! I pray that God continues to Bless you in all that you both do and in your healing. Praise God they figured out the vit. D thing! I am glad they are keeping me tested on that as well and I am working on keeping it up high. You may also want to consider if iv or liposomal vit. C would be beneficial! I am researching on that now and using it and eager to see it's effect. I have been watching a DVD on Psalm 23 for Cancer but applicable to anyone and it is so encouraging! Truly we can be content with such a good Shepard caring for us! May you continue to recognize His care and love for you in the midst of your suffering! I will pray for

I will be praying for you. Dan and I take D3 (5,000 min) in the winter. Many people are short of this important vitamin. I will look forward to hearing from you after you get that call from the doctor. Waiting is hard isn't it Lee.... I guess it builds patience and faith in us. Ugh!
