Granted Weekend Parole

Yes ... I have been granted weekend parole by my doctor for time served and good behavior. Okay -- so I added the last part -- heehee. Anyway, today Steve and I celebrate 16 years of marriage and we are headed off for the weekend to celebrate!

It is no secret it has been a rough year in some respects but we have also been tremendously blessed as well. Not only have we grown individually and even closer to one another, we have been loved so well by those around us. A very special group of friends, really our extended family, blessed us with an incredible gift of deluxe accommodations, spa treatments, and meals at the Salish Lodge and Spa at Snoqualmie Falls. (Thirty minutes outside of Seattle for those of you not from the Pacific Northwest. It is an absolutely breathtaking area!) We received the gift shortly before my quarantine was imposed and have not been able to use it as of yet. As I talked to the doctor this week, I began to tell him of my upcoming anniversary and the special gift. He stopped me and said Salish Lodge was one of his favorite places as well. It is wonderful to have a doctor that understands healing is more than just physical at times! He knows this is what my heart needed as well. He said to try to avoid large crowds and to also wipe down the hard surfaces, remotes, door knobs, etc. but then he said with a laugh that with a view of the waterfall, a fireplace, a jacuzzi tub, my husband, and a gourmet food basket; he didn't figure I was going to be seeing many people anyway!

So, with the doctor's blessings, we are off to celebrate 16 wonderful years thanks to a truly wonderful gift from truly special friends! Thanks for checking in on us. The doctor thought some labs might be in later next week. We'll keep you posted!

our daughter a couple of years ago at Salish Lodge. She truly enjoyed the Lodge. There is nothing better than being with the love of your life at a location designed by God.
