Shared Soldier

Good evening everyone! I wanted to thank all of you for your posts of encouragement and the many individual texts that I received last night and this morning. You really blessed me and Steve with your words and many great scriptures you shared.

Today went incredibly well. We knocked out six appointments today. All of today's appointments were tests so the specialists have all the information they need. If you are new to the blog, I have posted the schedule of appointments in the calendar feature on this site. Thank you in advance for your prayers tomorrow.

So ... In the pictures above you will see "Shared Soldier". (You will also see today's wardrobe for most of my day!) Back to "Shared Soldier" - Prior to my trip to New York for my 1st brain/cervical surgery in 2000, my dearly loved high school volleyball coach gave me the soldier to remind me to fight and that she was fighting for me and that God was fighting for me. "Shared Soldier" is named so bc we share it with one another when in difficult times. I remember standing in line at the funeral when her father, Neal, who was one of my biggest volleyball fans in addition to my little brother and parents, had passed away. I hugged her and placed "Shared Soldier" in her hand and left. When I fell ill again a few years later, "Shared Soldier" was placed silently at my front door. I knew the love behind it and the tears flowed. "Shared Soldier" has made five trips to New York where my neurosurgeon is and has made three trips to Mayo now. Today "Shared Shoulder" was cleared to go in the MRI machine! I was in the MRI machine for right at two hours today. New adventures abound for

"Shared Soldier". He is already green so we don't have to worry about the effects of radiation! So as I grasped "Shared Soldier" I was reminded of the following verses:

Isaiah 52:12 "...the Lord is going before you, and the God of Israel is your rear guard." (Your army)

Deuteronomy 31:8 "The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you: he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged."

I encourage you to reach out to someone and let them know you've got their "6"! (Means "back" in the military) Thanks Coach! "Shared Soldier" has survived 19 years and always been an encouragement to me for what it stands for. Thanks to all of you who read this

blog and have mine and Steve's "6".

May grace and peace be multiplied to you,

Lee and Steve

Amy Garland:

Praying for you and your appointments. Praying that your soul continues to be reminded of the truth ... great power and mighty strength lives within you through Our Heavenly Father. "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms," Ephesians 1:18-20 NIV Much love always!

Karren Logan:

I love that you have the Shared Soldier in your life, but especially this week. Your encounter at the airport sounds wonderful and that it was exactly what you needed to "recharge." It's so nice you guys have such sweet friends so close this week. And Lee, don't worry,

even with a tube taped to your nose and bandages on your arms,

you always manage to pull off beautiful and stylish. You definitely have a gift! I got you a card. It goes "And remember, the same God who moves mountains and parts seas is watching over you, and there's nothing He can't do. Praying he strengthens you and blesses you today and in the days ahead." As always, prayers for everything you need. Joan FD3

Kurt Kroschel:

Grace and peace to you both this day!
