The latest and next Steps

We wanted to provide a brief update on the past several days at home and the known next steps with Lee's doctors. She saw her primary care doctor early last week and they made some adjustments to her pain management regimen. The medication adjustments have provided some significantly better control of Lee's head and leg pains but also leave her very groggy and with limited energy. We are certainly thankful for the reduced discomfort but are also hopeful she can find a balance that doesn't cause her to be so sedated all the time.

The primary care doctor has also been in contact with Lee's neurosurgeons in New York and they have been able to collaborate on getting some additional scans run locally for review by the surgeons. The films that we sent recently did not have the level of clarity and detail needed to evaluate the areas in question where her previous surgeries were focused. Lee goes in for the new round of scans on Tuesday of this week and then we'll send them to New York.

We also got confirmation of a consultation appointment in the Neurology Clinic at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. Lee will see a neurologist there on Monday, October 21st. We are not sure what to expect from that appointment but are hopeful to find a local specialist to help manage and advocate for Lee's care.
