Weekend Update

Lee had a reasonably good Saturday all things considered. While the pain is significant as we anticipated, her care team has done a good job of managing it. She was able to get up and walk the floor for almost an hour (perhaps a bit much with the benefit of hindsight, but she can be an over-achiever and paid the priceš¬). There was a bout with some nausea and vomiting that was pretty uncomfortable but that has resolved this morning. She also got her catheter removed and has been able to go to the bathroom successfully which was a key benchmark.
She rested better last night (as well as can be expected in the hospital) and the plans for today are to start the transition from IV to oral medications and see how she tolerates
walking, etc. We are also hoping to restart her tube feeding soon in order to get some nutrition on board and help get her energy back since she hasn't had anything other than IV fluids since Tuesday. Right now it sounds like the plan/goal is stay the course of walking and regaining strength today and the possibility of discharge back to the hotel tomorrow. Updates when we know more and as always thanks for your continued prayers!
Steve
